Tertia Butcher

Editor

Tertia has been at the helm of The Riverine Grazier since 1995 and is one of the most capable publishers in the business. Born in South Africa where she worked as a magazine journalist, Tertia moved to Australia on Winter Solstice 1980 and began her newspaper career with the Pastoral Times in Deniliquin in February 1981. After starting in sales while writing the social column, she was offered a cadetship with the McPherson Group in 1983, completing it in 1985 followed by the Country Newspaper Journalism course with Deakin University. Tertia moved to Hay in 1991 to join The Riverine Grazier, was appointed editor in 1995, and became a co-owner of the business in 2000.

She welcomes local news content, Letters to the Editor and breaking news updates.

Krista Schade

Manager

Krista has worked in most departments of The Grazier over the past decade, initially starting part-time designing ads and assisting with production before moving into a full-time role in 2021. She manages digital and web content, rural reporting, historical content, commercial printing and accounts, and is a co-owner of The Riverine Grazier Pty Ltd. Krista completed her journalism studies by remote learning with JSchool in 2017, graduated from the Digital News Academy in 2023, and was part of the Walkley Foundation Leadership Program the same year. She published two novellas in 2020 and 2021, and is a member of the Country Press NSW council and Country Press Australia board.

Kimberly Grabham

Journalist

Kimberly joined The Grazier as a cadet journalist in 2022 and has carved out a niche writing longer form feature articles on local identities and sport stars. She has written a series of well-received and heartwarming articles on local identities and is currently editing a collection of the best stories for a book to be published late in 2024. Kimberly collates weekly sport, has a knack for sniffing out interesting local history tales, and visits Balranald regularly. She graduated from the Digital News Academy in 2023 and commenced her tertiary journalism studies with Deakin University in 2024.
